A Gift For My Niece

My beautiful Niece recently had a birthday, and I gave her this composition book:

J Composition Book Front S

J Composition Book Close Collage

I used Prima Rebellious paper, a black glittered letter "J", ribbon, a black Prima swirl, splattered blue paint, and also sprayed blue glimmer mist....totally fun to make!

I don't know what it is, but the idea of these little books seem so useful to me....maybe it makes me feel organized just having one laying around, or that they have potential to be used in so many different ways...who knows????

Back from WA...

...and I miss it already! There were so many full days with my beautiful family, I barely had time to share photos...I plan on showing a couple more, but you will probably end up seeing most of them in my next projects :)

Here is what I am thinking of right now:

WA 8.1.09 L&J Joyce Beach Behind S

I visited a foggy beach in Joyce, WA with my Mom, Grandpa, & Little Sister & Brother. What an amazing place this was! We stopped here on our way to the "Joyce Days" Parade...when we arrived at the parade just a couple miles inland, it was hot, sunny, and the sky was soooo blue...major contrast, huh?

On a side note there are two kits left from my last "Layout of the Week". Here is a peek, or you can see it in person at Pink Pineapple Scrapbooks. It is for sale there for only $7.00.

Sol Duc Falls

On August 4th I hiked through the Sol Duc Hot Springs forest to get to Sol Duc Falls...I had not been since my Dad took me when I was little, and it was so beautiful! The weather was perfect, shaded by all the massive trees, there were sections where streams of light would shine through the forest. We passed over many bridges, and through ferns that grew as tall as us, to reach our destination....

I have found...

...that I absolutely LOVE wind-up toys!

I spent Friday with my beautiful sister. We met up with her sweet boyfriend for lunch at one of my favorite spots,
Jeans Deli...(Their honey buns are the BEST!) With our bellies full of yummy food, we found ourselves walking downtown Sequim, and stopped in some fun shops...one of them being, the cutest toy shop where I found more wind-up toys for my slowly growing collection: a butterfly that flaps its wings, a t-rex that lollops, and a hedgehog that spins around in circles and then does a back-flip! With the excitement of my recent purchase still in the air, we drove over to Carrie Blake Park, and laid out in the grass, reading. It was the perfect afternoon...
