Wednesday ~ Heart Flutter

Pink Yellow Green Collage

I am so inspired by these colors right now!.....I found this beautiful scarf about a month ago and fell in love.  That's how it all started.

I dyed my hair magenta (and just adore the crazy color).
I painted my nails to match (and everything I touch feels magical).
And now I try and find any excuse possible to wear it all together.....Going to the grocery store.....well, I'd better grab my scarf, don't know if those "possible rain showers" will appear :)

Scarf Love

I love this time of year.....the sun is often covered ever so slightly by a thin layer of clouds, keeping it bright outside, but without the heat from direct sunlight.  Perfect scarf weather.

Well, I'm off to make some more little owls, magnets, and other goodies for some Mother's Day baskets.  Will share soon.

Don't forget to enter for the Pink Ninja Addicts Blog Hop giveaways!  The info on it is HERE.  And can enter HERE.

Happy Wednesday!

Amber & Carrie Minibook

A&C Minibook Collage

A&C Minibook Pgs 1&2 Collage

A&C Minibook Pgs 3&4 Collage

A&C Minibook Pgs 5&6 Collage

This mini was my fun project for our Creators' Circle meeting in April.  It is one of my favorite minibooks for a special reason.....each of us girls handmade or provided something sweet to make up the kits!!!

April made the beautiful red flower with the butterfly brad in it's center.

Melanie made all the other lovely flowers.

Jane made the leaf with the fabric button, provided the cute little mushrooms, brown velvet leaf, and hand dyed brown fabric strips.

Bonnie provided the colorful buttons, and white mesh.

I love it!!!  It's a little piece of them that I get to keep forever!

And of course I have the wonderful memories of a fun afternoon with my sister and I in the photos.....Makes me SO happy :)

Have a great weekend!
BIG smile!!!

Pink Ninja Monday!

PNA *Wonderland Mini* Front Cover

When I saw all the beautiful goodies in the Pink Ninja Addicts April kits, the wheels in my head started spinning and I came up with this colorful minibook.....there are lots of photos in this post (be warned), and enjoy :-)

PNA *Wonderland Mini* Pgs. 5&6

OK.....so, basically I played off the Alice In Wonderland theme, hence the name *Wonderland* for this mini.  There is the lovely mint green "Alice" flair in the kit that I mounted on one of the handmade fabric flowers (loves).  I used cute lines from the movie for the text (ie. Alice:  In my world the books would be nothing but pictures).....isn't that a perfect line for a mini?!?!  The photos I picked are from my trip to the magical state of WA last summer, and I altered them in photoshop to look more dreamy.....which would explain the bright magenta grass :-)  I can honestly say that almost everything I used is in the *Accidently Kelly Street* and *The World Is New* kits.  The only things that I added are the binder ring, thread/sewing, spray paint, craft paper (for the text) and thin chipboard to make the pages thicker.  It was so refreshing to not have to dig through my stash to make a minibook!  If you have one (or both of these kits) you are in for a treat!!!

I am also SUPER excited because next Monday (April 26th) is an extra special Pink Ninja Monday!  You will have the chance to win my first giveaway (handmade by me, of course)!!!  Will share a sneak peek soon, and more details on a full day of blogging fun!

Have a lovely week beautiful people :)

BIG smile!!!

Spring is in th air.....

Easter Basket Collage

.....and I am loving it!  One of my recent past times has been making gift baskets, and filling them with lovely goodies.  Some of them even handmade by me :)

I designed and have been making cute little owl plushies.....the large and small pebbles are spring themed magnets (that are packaged in the pink origami box pictured below), and the fabric/paper banner spells "spring" too.....

Easter Basket

Going to make it short and sweet tonight.....trying to get better and falling asleep at a decent hour :)

Have a lovely weekend!

Wednesday ~ Heart Flutter

Vanilla Chai Tea

A couple months ago I had the most delicious Chai Tea drink EVER.  I was at a cafe chatting with some dear friends near Balboa Park (downtown San Diego).....it was a crisp winter evening, and the spicy sweet flavor was perfection.  Ever since then, I have tried chai tea/latte drinks at every cafe/coffee shop near my home, and can find nothing even close to the same yummyness.

One morning I woke up and decided that it was time.  I went through the ingredients in my cupboard and came up with a recipe that is not the same, but also VERY tasty.  It's perfect in it's own way.  Creamy.  Just the right amount of caffeine.  Flavorful.  Warm.  A very comfortable way to wake up in the mornings.

Here it is....let me know what you think.....

Pink Ninja Monday!

Pink Ninja Addicts *Bloom* Layout

Pink Ninja Addicts *Bloom* Layout Collage

Happy Monday to you all!  Today I loving all the pretty little purple flowers in this layout.....and, you can't see it well (except for in person), but the main photo also has my black boots, and a pretty chiffon black skirt flowing in the wind (just at the bottom edge)....I love that too :)  Give me a nice breeze and I'm a happy girl.

I don't create many 8 and 1/2 by 11 layouts, but decided it was the perfect size for this project once I decided I was going to print out the background image, (and my printer only prints 8 and 1/2 by 11 or smaller).  It was fun putting it all together.  I altered the background photo to have a different feel/look than the main (smaller) photo. I wanted it to feel more like a background, so it has a faint texture of lines, and is quite a bit brighter.  Once I had the photos ready, it was super easy to pick trough all the beautiful papers and embellishments in the Pink Ninja Addicts *Accidently Kelly Street* kit AND the *World Is New* add-on kit.....I personally feel these kits compliment "nature" photos very well.

Anyways, I am off to work on a minibook with some CRAZY photos!  Have a beautiful day :)

Hugs,
Carrie

Rosy Easter Kit

Rosy Easter Kit Basket

I have been a bit under the weather, but mostly busy making lots of fun stuff....so I have lots to share in the next week or so.  The feeling of completing a project is very fulfilling, so my life has felt very full lately.  It's nice :)

First I would like to share with you my Rosy Easter Kit.  The photo above is a version of the Easter Basket I put together for my beautiful friend Jane.  My contribution to our Easter basket exchange this past Tuesday at Creators' Circle.  We had a fun meeting.  Here is a peek at what's inside.....

Rosy Easter Kit

.....Some pretty paper embellishments, a vase with flowers, handmade tags, ribbon, bakers twine, a pin with peals, clothespin, silk flower clip, handmade fabric and paper tag minibook, and a piece of ladybug tissue paper.  I ended up making quite a few of these little kits for friends, and family this year.  I have been trying t give more home made gifts this year :)

And here are some of the details.....

Rosy Easter Kit Collage

I am going out with some friends for Indian food this evening...never had it before, but I love trying new things (even though I'm a picky eater).  Hope your weekend is fantastic!
