I used the August Kit from my Creators' Circle Group, and am currently IN LOVE with the photo used. My nephew took a picture of his feet last fall...his version of a self portrait:

Weekend Fun w/ Ally!

This weekend, I walked around Balboa Park with my beautiful friend, Ally.....She had never been before, so we took a few photos:

After our leisurely walk, we decided to drive down the street to Little Italy.....it was getting late in the afternoon, and the sidewalks were filled with people enjoying the gorgeous day. On our way to get an espresso, we came across an art supply store called "Blick". Our friends had told us about it, and we were thrilled! Needless to say, it was enough of a distraction, that by the time we were finished exploring the store, our tummies were rumbling. So, I took Ally to my favorite pizza restaurant there called "Mona Lisa".....it was so delish!!! Exactly what we needed! We did end up getting Mochas from my favorite espresso shop (and Cannoli), for our ride home....soooo goooood....

"The Great Pumpkin"

UPDATE: SOLD OUT!!! Next Layout coming soon :)

My next Layout of the Week is now for sale at Pink Pineapple Scrapbooks. Here is a sneak peek:

The Great Pumpkin Kit Close S

This kit is $7.00, and comes with color instructions. The paper is pre-cut, so all you have to do is assemble it!

The theme is "The Great Pumpkin", and it's perfect for your pumpkin patch photos. You can also create your own title, instead of using the one provided, and create your own Halloween theme!

I picked out matching product that is on display with this layout, so you can add to the kit, or create a second page (The glitter alphabet stickers are really cute!).

A BIG thank you to everyone who has purchased a kit designed by me!!!! Please feel free to email me photos of your layouts/projects.....I would LOVE to see your finished product!

Rosie's Circle Journal Page

....for the Pink Pineapple Design Team. The theme of her journal is "10 Things That Make You Happy".....so much fun!

DT Circle Journal 8.09 Rosie Full S

DT Circle Journal 8.09 Rosie Collage

My 10 "Things" are:
  1. Holding hands with Ryan
  2. Visiting family in WA
  3. Wind-up toys
  4. Sunsets
  5. Reading Twilight
  6. Scrapbooking
  7. My moccasins
  8. Beer with friends
  9. Wind
  10. Music
I used leather-look fabric as the background on both pages, Sassafras Lass paper, layered the paper behind the glitter butterflies, red ribbon, cut the swirls out of Basic Grey paper, and sewed the photos onto the paper.

There are so many things that make me happy, I just LOVED this project!!! Thanks, Rosie :)

Homeade Cards

I wanted to congratulate my Pink Ninja Leaders, for the awesome success they have had with their inspiration blog, so I made them each a card:

Pink Ninjas Congrats Card Collage

The cards are small, only a few inches in diameter. I used mostly Sassafras Lass products, hot pink felt, a Heidi Swap white chipboard heart, a yellow prima flower, and a blue bead.

On a side note, I recently watched the movie Porco Rosso, and I LOVED it!!!

The Pink Ninjas "100"

Congratulations to The Pink Ninjas!!!! They now have 100 followers! I am so excited for them!!! What an accomplishment!

In honor of this festive occasion, the amazing Ninja Leaders, Ally & Nely, have a special challenge for you....."100" of anything....lists, words, loves, etc.... There are some great examples on their blog from their design team....very inspirational. Here is my take:

"100 Movies I LOVE"

Pink Ninjas 100 List LO Full S

Pink Ninjas 100 List LO Run-ons S

Pink Ninjas 100 List LO Words S

I used lots of fun Sassafras Lass paper and embellishments, American Crafts thickers, Basic Grey solid yellow paper & white rub-ons, Hambly frame, hot pink felt & stitching, and purple glimmer mist....

This challenge was perfect timing for me. I had been wanting to make a list like this for a while. You see, I have a handful of movies that are my favs, and the rest are a LOT that I still LOVE. Feels like closure some how....very nice :)

Can't wait to see what you do!!! Enjoy!

9 was AWESOME!

I went to the theater with my lovely friend, Melanie, and we both LOVED it! It was a nice change from the typical Hollywood animations...9 was very dark, definitely for adults, had a cool unique story, dramatic cinematography, amazing actors as the character voices...somehow you felt the humanity in it even though it's about dolls...the plot was pretty basic, but yet still it felt original...and I can't even express how amazing the animation was!!!..if you like lots of action, I would bet you'll love this movie :) Did I mention I LOVED it???

Melanie also surprised me with the cutest unicorn key chain for my birthday (the rainbow one, of course)...isn't her packaging wonderful...sigh...

My first visit to Legoland!

Was with my dear friend, April, and her two adorable kiddos :) It was a fantastic afternoon...we went on some fun rides, saw the kids giggle and smile a lot, had ice cold coke zero, and April even packed an awesome picnic lunch! Here are a couple pics:

And lovely April with Mr. T...we went on a little boat ride:

Overall, I found Legoland a very relaxing place.....maybe it's all the children running around with smiles on their faces, or the light breeze rustling the leaves of the beautifully groomed gardens, or the refreshing feeling of having you damp skin drying in the sun from all the water rides...whatever it may be, I am glad I was able to spend such a lovely afternoon with my friend...Thanks, April!!!

Hambly Minibook

This is a fun little project I created for the Pink Pineapple Design Team, using an adorable Hambly NotePad:

DT Hambly Mini Front Close S

DT Hambly Mini Collage

DT Hambly Mini Side S

This project ended up with a very different style than I am use to using...with the messy stamping, the hand journaling, and all the dry brushing with the white paint...but I think it turned out OK...really have great memories with the photos I used, so it makes me happy to look through it :)

One of the cool techniques I used was dry brushing white paint over these American Craft Details. I think it adds a nice touch. I also, ended up adding chipboard in between each page, to keep the pages from warping...

I think there are still a couple different Hambly NotePads at Pink Pineapple Scrapbooks if you want to make your own :)

I found all the supplies for this mini from the Borders by my house.....all the bright paper, postcards, stickers, and even the album base.....I just used my sewing machine to sew it all together.....very non-traditional scrapbooking supplies.....it was a nice change.....

Ally is always an inspiration.....just being around her sweet, smiley self, makes me want to create.....not to mention all the beautiful layouts, projects, and sweet finds she shares with us on her blog.....thanks for being you, Ally girl!!! LOVES!

The Next Pink Ninja Challenge....

Is Secrets....here is my take on it:

Pink Ninja Secrets LO Full S

Secrets LO Collage

I had a lot of fun will all the different techniques I used to create this layout:
  1. Sewing lots of circles in three colors (pink, blue & white).
  2. Candy Apple Red Glimmer Mist was sprayed for texture.
  3. Tore a white piece of paper from a bound journal, and used the Newsboy Prima Stamp with black ink to create patterned paper. It was used to matte the photo.
  4. Pink Hambly Rub-ons (always love them!).
  5. Layered the scraps of the stamped paper behind the Maya Road Birds.
  6. Used American Crafts Rub-ons (pink wings) on scraps of the stamped paper, cut them out, and popped them up on the Maya Road Bird's wings.
  7. Cut slits on the right and left sides of the photo, and ran black ribbon through, tying a bow.
Both the papers I used for the background are from Daisy D's. The black alphas are from Prima, and the pink are from Jillibean Soup.

There are some really awesome layouts over at the Pink Ninja Blog....each girl has a different take on this challenge....you will LOVE it!

Have a creative day!!!
