Your appointment with Friday

Hello beautiful people!  And welcome to Friday!!!  If this is your first time stopping by, my sweet friend, Gloria, and I have been hosting a fun photo prompt on Fridays.  To play along, you have all weekend to be inspired and take photos. Then, on Mondays Gloria and I each share with you a project made from ours.  We have our Project Monday Flickr Group HERE where you can upload your pics and projects, or just leave a comment with the link.  It's really great to see what everyone comes up with : )

This weeks prompt for you to create something lovely is.....

Comfy Cozy.

*comfy cozy*

We would love for you to be imaginative and take a photo of something that gives you your comfy cozy.  It can really mean whatever you want it to, and you can take an artsy photo with your camera, or even just snap a fun pic with your phone.....whatever you would like.  For me, comfy cozy is a warm place by the fire, relaxing on a fluffy blanket that is cool to my skin, reading an interesting book that takes me to a great place,  not worrying about my hair, fun PJ's and flowers just because and there must be twinkle lights......there is something about their glow that makes me feel instant warmth.  I'm sure there are lots of other things that make me feel comfy cozy, like hugging an over-sized sweater, but these days I am spending most of my comfy cozy time as similar versions to my photo.  Right now it's just me.

What does comfy cozy mean to you?

Relaxing by the fire

Gloria & Me

We hope you have fun this weekend, and thanks for being a part of our artistic journey this Fall!  Don't forget to stop by Gloria's blog to see her photos ; )

See you Monday!

Fall Flutters.....

*fall flutters* wreath

*fall flutters* wreath (close)

I am so in love with yarn these days, I decided to make some of these pretties.  This *Fall flutters* wreath is for my sweet friend, April, for her birthday.  It's about 12 inches in diameter and takes a little over two hours to make......so, it's a little time consuming, but fun non the less.  And did I mention that I love it?!?!  : )

This weekend I will be making some more for another friend, myself, and extra to sell.  It's going to be awesome because we are all meeting over at Gloria's house for a chili cook off!!!  There are like 15 + girls that will be there.....it's going to be crazy!  Pumpkin beer (which I can't drink.....anyone know of a good alternative?), cornbread, chili, cupcakes.....and I hope Clem and I will get some fun pics of it all to share.  Hearty meals on a cool Fall day are the BEST!!!

And today I decided to take this silly photo.....

pencil + bun = happy

Lately, there is something about putting things in my hair that don't normally go, like flowers or pencils, that have been just the right amount of happy I need to make my day special.  (Right now I also adore putting flowers in my braids.)  And since I'm on a happy roll, I think this evening I'm going to watch a new animated movie with Ryan I've been excited for, and also make some (gluten free) brownies to enjoy.....sounds yummy!  But right now I need to finish up this post, prepare for Gloria and my next photo prompt tomorrow (fun!), and do more organizing / cleaning in the guest room (not so fun!).

Happy almost weekend!
Love, Carrie

Wednesday ~ Heart Flutter

Our Little Pumpkin

Ponyo & Me

It's Pumpkin Month!

Heart Flutter #1 ~ Took little Ponyo out to get his 13 week photos.  We decided that these mini pumpkins would be fun props, but once he and I got out there he really wasn't that interested anymore.  He gets distracted so easily.  However I did kinda manage to get him a little lined up with the orange beauties.  He's all character these days.....makes me smile a lot!  And I think his photo turned out so cute!!!  I've been contemplating making a Fall layout to put in a shadowbox on my living room wall, and I think I might use it : )

Heart Flutter #2 ~ Tonight I am watching this movie.....

I just LOVE it......The Uninvited (1944) is one of my all time favorites, and kinda perfect for Halloween month.  You can't really tell from the preview, but to me it is very quirky and has a romantically artistic feel to it.  For example two of the main characters are brother and sister.  They decided to buy a house together (which I think is adorable), and while the sister is worried about what's going on in the house, the brother is just plain scared.  Their relationship is very quirky cute to me.  Oh, and their house is on a cliff.....it's so beautiful, and a little spooky at night!  Anyways, if you decide to watch it, I hope you enjoy.  I'm turning it on right after I finish this post ; )

Heart Flutter #3 ~ Liz Kartchner, aka Dear Lizzy, has a beautiful video on her blog today.  Her husband, Collin, made it for her.....I think you are really going to like it.  It's simple and sweet, and for me a really great time to just be peaceful and enjoy all the Fall colored trees, lovely family time and happy bird chirps (at the end).

Well, I'm off to bed.  Tomorrow I have a new Fall inspired project to share.....

See ya then!

Colorful Fabric Garland

For Melanie : )

*Bright Fabric Garland*

I had made my sweet friend Melanie some paper garland for her birthday earlier in the year.....you can see the post HERE.  This summer she asked me if I could make something similar for her outdoor patio.....so it would have to be out of fabric.  Well,  it took quite a bit of time to put together, but I ended up with this colorful fabric garland (in the photo above), and gave it to her just yesterday.  It ended up being 30 feet of happy : )

We had a great date!  Met at a Starbucks, ran to Michaels for some art goodness, and then saw an evening showing of My Soul To Keep in 3D.  We chatted, I gave her the garland which she said she loved.....she is taking it out of the packaging tonight.....talked about crazy fun stuff, and made silly comments and laughed a lot during the movie.  Good times.  Good times.

I was thinking of opening an Etsy shop and adding some fabric garland to it....would anyone possibly be interested?

Anyways, I have had a crazy busy day today and need to take a little nap before Gloria and my mini photoshoot in a couple hours.  So, I'll say nighty night, and see ya tomorrow.  Probably in the afternoon.

Sweet Dreams!
