Crunchy Leaves

The journaling reads:

My name is Carrie, and I go out of my way to step on crunchy leaves.

I used a prompt from Kara Haupt's Fall In Love class for the journaling, and I am the first to admit that I may be able to come up with my own scrapbook ideas, but when it comes to journaling I am at a loss.  No talent there.  So, this quote from Kara's class was the perfect inspiration for creating a little journaling page today.  All I had to do was go outside and grab a couple freshly fallen leaves (the already crunchy ones were all curled up), find this cute chipboard birdie (from October Afternoon), add the journaling, and layer them together with the scalloped paper.  To secure the leaves I sewed them on, and even made veins with the thread.  And now it is hanging in my living room with all my other Fall minibook pages that I haven't bound together yet : )

The rest of today I am finishing up a fun fabric project for a friend (will have pics of it to share next week), making a birthday present for another friend, more puppy training, preparing for our next photo prompt tomorrow, and my brain just went dead.  Can't think anymore.  I started a gluten free diet last night and right now all I can think about is eating a yummy piece of toast.....lol!
